Christian Education ~ Sunday School Lessons ~ Confirmation

Immanuel’s Sunday School classes are offered for children from 2 years of age through adult. We welcome you to visit and join our growing program. Sunday School begins at 10:15 am in the Education Building, following the 9 am worship service. Baby Sunday School is offered immediately following the Children’s Sermon on Sunday mornings.

1.  Sunday School starts each week in the Sanctuary for music and opening, right after service ends (10:15).  Everyone is welcome to stay after service and listen to the children’s  “joyful noises”!

2.  We use a rotation approach for grades K-5, keeping the students moving from station to station and learning from different teachers and learning styles each week.

3.  We do still need some volunteers to teach a section for a week (Bible stories, arts/crafts, games or activities).  See the bulletin board outside of the office for sign-up sheets!  Remember, all curriculum and supplies are provided, so you will have guidance and support from the Sunday School staff every step of the way — the youth really enjoy new teachers and activities.  Do you have a special interest, hobby or skill?  How about teaching the youth about certain areas of the church or its history?  Maybe you could host a cooking or baking session?  Help us plant or clean up outside?  Can you help them write letters or cards for our members that can’t make it to church?  These all fall under “Activity Alley”, a special time that will help teach God’s message of love and service for others.  This is a great way to be involved once or twice this school year and at your convenience and scheduling preference!

4.  Preschool and Middle/High School will stay with their traditional format but will be included in some of these special activities and we would love some volunteers and helpers for these classes too!

5.  Snacks!  We also have a snack sign-up on the bulletin board outside of the office for each week.  We are requesting single-serve packaging for snacks such as crackers, fruit snacks, granola bars, Rice Krispy treats, pretzels, or similar.
